Is Early Achievers a Daycare?
~ No, we are not a Day Care we are a School of Early Learning and Fine Arts.
How is Early Achievers, The School of Early Learning different then a Day Care or Pre School?
~ Our School of Early Learning offers structured Educational Programs. Daycares are unable to provide structured learning for children due to Government regulations that are imposed upon them.
How are the Early Learning programs different then Day Care/Pre School programs?~ At Early Achievers we prepare each child for school. We look at individual strengths and needs to help provide the best learning environment for the child. With our Educators backgrounds we are able to pinpoint many areas of concern before the child enters school as well we are able to challenge each child by providing enrichment at his/her level. Our educators focus on the strengths and needs of each child to help build a solid foundation for future success.
What is your Teacher to Student ratios?
~ Early Learning ratios for Day Care and Pre School are 1-8, Early Achievers offers exceptional ratios of 1 teacher to a maximum of 6 children. We feel that in order to provide the best quality program for children, small numbers are extremely important
~ School Age ratios for Day Care and other after school programs are 1-15, our ratios are 1-6 for Academic (Reading and Math) and approximately 1-8 for enrichment (Drama, Science, etc)
Who will teach my child?
~ All staff are well trained and come with many years of experience. We have Certified Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, and Recreational Specialists.
What ages do you take?
~ We offer programs for ages 1.5 to 12 years. We do have specialized programs for older children and adults as well under our Family Essentials Branch.
Do you provide programs for Parents and their children?
~ Yes, we offer a 1 hour Saturday program for children and their Care Givers called Little Learners.
~ During the school year 2010-11 we will begin to offer programs through a new branch of Early Achievers for parents and Youth called Family Essentials…stay tuned for information!!!!
Can my child come all day?
~ No, unlike Day Care or Pre School settings we do not provide full day programs. Only Day Cares can provide programing for children for over 10 hours per week.
~ At Early Achievers children can come as little as 30 minutes to a maximum of 10 hours per week.
Can my child come all year?
~ No, we do not have year round programs. We do however offer our school age programs from September to June, our Saturday Early Learning programs run for three - 10 week sessions and our weekly Early Learning programs run for 35 weeks - Mid September - to Mid.
I am working all day so I need Day Care for my child. I really want my child to attend programs at Early Achievers, how can I do both?
~There are many parents that find creative ways to have their child attend both Day Care and Early Achievers. Some parents use lunch breaks to transport their child to and from the programs, as well there are local Day Cares that may even pick up or drop off your child. Don’t forget, you can try the Saturday programs as well.
Can my child attend the after school program on a part time basis?
~ Yes, children can attend on a part time basis. Some come for just one hour a week, one day a week while others come for more depending on what the parents need.
What kinds of activities will my child engage in while in the Resource Centre during the after school program?
~ When children are not in a class they are in the Resource Centre. A variety of games and activities are available based on a theme for that week. There is also limited computer time for each child as well as a book corner for those that like to read and an art station for those that like to be creative.
What is the latest I can pick my child up at the end of the day?
~ Our after school program ends at 5:00, all children are to be picked up by 5:15.
Do you provide care on Professional Development Days?
~ Unfortunately, we are unable to offer care to school age children on those days. We are a school, not a day care, therefore we cannot offer care for a full day.
Do you provide transportation from any schools in the area to Early Achievers for your after school program?
~ Early Achievers offers a bus service from Mary Queen of Peace only. There is an extra fee to avail of this service.
